It have been a long pause since I used an online platform for the last time.. I’m back here today with this update about my immigration process. A journey that started as a vague idea and is gradually taking shape.

Back in time: 2012
It all started back in 2012 when I met a friend who is a Canadian citizen now who encouraged my to apply. I was reluctant at that time and just simply did nothing. Couple of years later the subject came back and I actually made a contact with an immigration firm in Canada, paid their fees, collected some documents and even passed the ielts exam with high marks. But again it was not the time for me to take things seriously.

Moving forward: 2016
However, In 2016 I decided to move forward and I had to evaluate my educational credentials, re-assess my language skills through ielts exam, re-create an Express Entry profile, calculate my crs points, create a profile on SK immigration site, ensure my points for the provincial program are enough to qualify me formalizing a submission, gather all information, print, sign, scan, upload data, and many other things.
Think all that was complete by March 2017, then I had to wait until it was mid May when the intake was open.
I remember the time when I used to watch the online forums and the chat groups just to make sure I don’t miss the chance to apply. It was almost midnight that day when I woke up to sip some water and thought to check my phone notifications, there were nothing so I head back to sleep and one of a sudden my phone started to peep and flash with many notification that SINP intake is open.

SINP-EE 1st submission: May/2017
I was ready with almost everything I thought needed for the Saskatchewan International Skilled Worker Program and paid the processing fees in almost no time to complete the submission.
Following day I received my file number and acknowledgment  of receipt, my application status at that time showed “Submission Received”. Few days later my application status turned into “In Progress”.
It was so quick that I thought it is going to be that simple and easy along the way. Yet, it did not happened : )
My file was returned with a rejection status by mid October 2017. There were no updates or communications whatsoever before I receive the disqualified letter. It was more than 5 months, the disappointment and frustration was high at that time.

SINP-EE 2nd submission: October/2017
I decided to give it a go few days after my first submission was returned.
I thought the intake for SINP-EE stream will re-open in December 2017 but to my surprise SINP invited applicants to submit their applications by the last week of October. So I made my 2nd submission in a rush with little to almost no hope it is going to be successful.

Licensing: November 2017
Following the regular procedures to acknowledge receiving the file and assigning a file number I knew I will need to start a formal licensing process with the relevant SK regulation for my chosen NOC. I had previous plans to get my qualifications recognized in Canada and I was kinda familiar with what to do. It was not an easy task but I was able to submit a consolidated file by early November anyway.

File on Hold: December 2017
By late December 2017 I received a letter from SINP informing that my updated/new NOC is regulated and requires Saskatchewan license proof, and that my file will be placed on hold for one year.

File updated: January 2018
I was able to receive the relevant assessment letter from the SK regulatory authority during the first week of January. few days later I sent an update including the proof reference to SINP.
By late January I received my first ever ADR communication asking for updated proof of funds, and federal forms.
In my response I attached additional updates that was not requested. And a request to correct my name as it was misspelled in the request for additional information letter.

SINP Nomination: February 2018
My file never followed the trend by that time where invoice tab disappears and reappears. It also never shown a currency conversion date.
The status remained as waiting on applicant since the time I received the ADR. Then on a Friday night status changed to In process again.
By the last week of February, the status changed to Application Nominated! and I received an updated email correspondence in my mailbox accordingly.

My CIC profile was updated the next day and I received letters including my provincial nomination certificate.

It was such a relief as I knew that what was just a sketchy uncertain plan is about to become more serious.

Monday, October 30, 2017

My application was returned with an ineligible letter. Apparently there are new rules or selection criteria being applied. I shall try again following the advice received from SINP.

Saturday, September 2, 2017

Still no updates what so ever..
No funds conversion date, no request for additional documents.
File status still in process.

Thursday, June 1, 2017

Just to note that it takes an average of three month for a case to change status from "In Process" to Nominated. So, not much is expected here up to August/September 2017!

Tuesday, May 23, 2017

My file just turned to be shown as in process.. don't know if the application is accepted or refused.
It is a waiting game until the next update.

As for now I will just keep gathering more information about the province and the 2 main cities.

Friday, May 19, 2017

It turned out that several applicatins from this May17 intake has turned to show In Process status within few days.
Interesting to know this is the first paid intake for Saskatchewan PNP stream - ($300) at the time of submission. Also, the intake is still open to the moment!
